HOW TO REACH US

BY ROAD

  • From Budapest, Hegyeshalom and Győr take route 82 from the M1 ring towards Veszprém (Pannonhalma is indicated by a sign on the motorway) is jelzi Pannonhalmát az autópályán)
  • Also on route 82 from lake Balaton via Veszprém
  • On route 81 from Székesfehérvár via Kisbér and Mezőörs.

PARKING

Személygépkocsival érkező vendégeink számára a Pannonhalmi Főapátsághoz tartozó parkolókban 200 Ft/óra parkolási díj megfizetésével tudunk helyet biztosítani.

Parking is free next to the Herbal Garden.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

AUTÓBUSSZAL

Scheduled coaches run from Győr coach station to Pannonhalma Archabbey (castle main gate) every day. Many services arrive to the town centre from where the Archabbey is about 15 minutes’ walk.

BY RAILWAY

Trains from Győr to Veszprém (Bakonyszentlászló, and Zirc) stop at Pannonhalma station.

BY BICYCLE

Győr and Pannonhalma are connected by an 18.4-kilometre bicycle path. The bicycle path starts in Győr at the Szauter Ferenc Street roundabout. It passes along route 82 via the villages of Nyúl and Écs. At the centre of Écs it departs from route 82 towards Pannonhalma. Leading through the town it takes you to Szabadság Square at the foot of the Archabbey. It is approximately 1.4 km long. There are three resting areas along the path in Győr, Écs and between Győr and Écs. There are three other resting areas for cyclists in Pannonhalma.

ENTRANCE FOR VISITORS

Our guests may walk up to the entrance for visitors on a forest path from Tricollis Visitor Centre where there are 56 longish stairs. The historic building complex of the Pannonhalma Archabbey is only partly accessible due to geographic and architectural preconditions.
